Rules & what counts
Car Brands A–Z — One Brand per Letter
An alphabet run through the world's garages: 100 face-down brand cards sorted A to Z, and all you need is ONE brand per letter. Type any car brand starting with the current letter and every brand of that letter flips over — name Lada and you also uncover Lamborghini, Lancia, Land Rover, and the rest of the Ls.
The set is the 100 biggest and best-known car brands: the global sales giants, the luxury and supercar icons, and the fast-rising EV marques. That's the whole point of the reveal — each letter you clear shows you which of the world's top brands you got for free.
How to play
The pulsing chip in the letter bar is your current letter — type any qualifying brand and matching runs on every keystroke, no Enter needed.
One correct brand flips its entire letter, then the walk moves to the next letter. Letters with no brand in the top 100 (like Q) skip automatically.
Common shorthands count: "VW", "Chevy", "Merc", and "Lambo" all work, and accents are optional — "Citroen" and "Skoda" are fine.
Your score is letters cleared, not brands flipped — 25 letters have at least one brand.
The timer starts on your first keystroke; Give Up reveals every brand, and progress autosaves as you go.
What counts in this quiz
The 100 biggest & best-known car brands, each revealed with its logo and country of origin.
Cards are alphabetical, so each letter's brands sit together and flip as one block — from six A-brands down to single-brand letters like X, Y, and Z.
Both current giants and beloved defunct marques (Saab, Holden) make the cut, plus the new EV wave — BYD, Rivian, Zeekr, VinFast, and friends.
What's not included — and why
Only the top 100 — niche, defunct, or regional marques outside it (think Datsun, Pontiac, or Zenvo) aren't answers, so don't burn time on deep cuts.
Q is the one letter with no brand at all — it skips itself, and you can't lose points to it.
Model names don't count: this is a brand quiz, so "Mustang" solves nothing while "Ford" clears all of F.
Good to know
Almost a third of the letter L is luxury: Lamborghini, Lexus, Lincoln, Lotus, and Lucid all share it with humble Lada.
Wuling's Hongguang Mini EV was at one point the best-selling electric car on Earth — a $5,000 city box that outsold Teslas in China.
Yangwang's U8 SUV can do a "tank turn", spinning in place with its four motors — and BYD, its parent, began as a phone-battery maker.
The newest letters are the EV ones: X, Y, and Z are all covered by brands founded after 2014 (XPeng, Yangwang, Zeekr).
